If your cabinet boxes are structurally sound, refacing can deliver most of the visual change of a full replacement for meaningfully less.
Plenty of Calgary kitchens, especially in homes built through the 1990s and early 2000s, still have solid cabinet boxes underneath dated doors and a tired finish. Refacing replaces doors, drawer fronts and any exposed end panels while keeping your existing box structure, which cuts both cost and disruption compared to a full tear-out.
Refinishing goes a step further when even the boxes are worth keeping as-is: we strip, sand and re-spray the existing doors and frames in a new colour or sheen, which can genuinely transform a kitchen's feel without touching the layout at all.
We'll assess the boxes on site — if they're square, dry and free of water damage, refacing is usually a strong option; if the boxes themselves are failing, replacement tends to make more sense long-term.
It varies by kitchen size and door style, but refacing typically runs meaningfully below a full custom replacement since the box structure and rough carpentry are already in place.
